Kung Fu Panda

Kung Fu Panda is surprisingly excellent. I expected crap but i LOVED the film. In fact, i think Kung Fu Panda is the perfect blend of the best of east meets west.

Storywise, Kung Fu Panda is admittedly run-of-the-mill chinese mythology. Every thing ends happily, loose ends are tied up and the villains served their just desserts. The film is predictable but therein lies its magic. Kung Fu Panda is a feel-good animated film where good always triumphs over evil, and it makes no pretense to be more than just that. I walked out of Siam Paragon Movie Plex a very happy girl=)

The animation is fantastic and i really liked the opening credits which is, for lack of a better adjective, cool. Po, the fat panda, the five other mighty disciples, the masters (in the form of a turtle and mouse respectively- how cute is that?) are damn blawdy adorable. The film is visually appealing, funny and also heartwarming. The mish-mash of the very chinese soundtrack, gongfu legends and settings with the very distinctly western sarcastic barbs and jokes sat very well with me, and i found myself intrigued and tickled as the story unfolded.

Just go watch Kung Fu Panda– there is no need for long reviews to explain the charms of the film. It’s just very nice sweet silly entertainment!=)))

  1. I don’t know if it’s just the Beijing Olympics coming close or just pure coincidence.

There are several Chinese Hollywood films right now.

This is one and the Warlords is another. Forbidden Kingdom was shown a few weeks back.

I agree, this is worth your bucks. Go watch Kung Fu Panda. 🙂
